MAS-100 Atmos – the inspiring genesis
GERM COLLECTION UNDER PRESSURE
Norms and standards require the determination of the bacterial count in process gases to protect products from microbial contamination (ISO 14698 and EN 17141, ISO 8573-7). In order to reliably estimate the risk of contamination, sampling must be performed as gently as possible. Therefore, the impaction of the pressurized gas on the agar plate is carried out under the same pressure as exists in the pressurized gas system. The pressurized gas is only released after sampling. This prevents the germs from being exposed to the large shear forces and abrupt drop in pressure and temperature in a pressure reduction valve, which could lead to reduced growth and survival. Only after sampling is the pressure controlled and slowly reduced.

CALIBRATION
PROPER SETTINGS LEAD TO ACCURATE RESULTS
It is very simple – a reliable microbial measurement cannot be obtained unless the sampling volume is accurate. For this reason, you should have the gas flow of your microbial sampler checked annually. Our experts can calibrate the MAS-100 Atmos compressed gas sampler here in Staefa or directly at your site and ensure traceable calibration in accordance with the highest international standards (accredited in accordance with ISO 17025).
